Since the start of the full-scale invasion more than 2,400 schools in Ukraine have been significantly damaged or destroyed as a result of russian attacks. savED is a Ukrainian charity organization, founded by the ex-Minister of Education Anna Novosad, which seeks to rebuild and restore schools in some the most damaged regions of Ukraine. Rebuilding and restoring schools is one of the most essential things we can do to bring back hope to children and their communities.

  • Our team members have already successfully fundraised for rebuilding schools in Ukraine that have been damaged or destroyed by russian military aggression. Our fundraising efforts were supported by Berkeley Half Marathon in 2022, and altogether we were able to gather $13k to restore 2 classrooms in school 20 in Chernihiv (a city in the Northern region of Ukraine heavily damaged by the russian army). The Run to Rebuild initiative is conducted in partnership with savED — a charity foundation aiming to restore and improve the educational infrastructure of Ukrainian cities destroyed by the russian army in its unprovoked brutal war against Ukrainian nation. This project was part of the Rebuild Schools Movement to unite even more people in the rebuilding efforts and restore access to education and hope to more communities affected by the unprovoked war in Ukraine.
